A foundation sets the tone for the rest of makeup that you put on. Why? Because you can dress it up with blush, highlight your face or contour it or both, put eye makeup on and finish with some lip gloss or lipstick or just put on some foundation to keep it minimal and you still look polished and ready to go.
That’s what I love about a foundation when you find a good one. There are days where I’ll go to work and simply wear a lip gloss, a mascara and foundation because I just don’t feel like wearing too much but if you have a foundation that will enhance your skin instead of covering it then I’m good to go. And in these days of excess where you see influencers all across social media using like almost 20 products on their face, keeping it simple sometimes is good and healthy for your skin and maybe your mental health to. But that’s a whole other topic that we don’t need to get into.
These days though I am really happy to see companies expanding their color selection and as well for skin types. I can finally find ones for oily skin that keeps your skin mat but fresh looking all day long. And it’s not just high end companies that are doing this it’s also drugstore Brands that are affordable but still give you great quality for less. Back in my day unfortunately there wasn’t a lot to choose from color wise and even less to choose from that was specific to your skin type. So what did I use? Honestly I only used powder foundation and that was only to touch up and keep my oily skin mat and I didn get into a liquid foundation until my mid twenties. So now you know I am so excited about the selection we have now.
Now with the selection that we have, I can finally choose foundations whether its $20.00 or $60.00 that is going to be perfect for my skin tone and as well as my skin type. I mean wouldn’t it be awesome to find a foundation in your local drugstore that is affordable and just as good as an expensive foundation? NYX can’t stop won’t stop full coverage foundation
Liquid foundations have always been difficult for me to work with but now that their foundations that I can actually wear for my oily skin I get really excited and want to try all of them but one foundation at a time and we will start with this one.
The price for this foundation is $20.00 and what it does is keep your skin flawless and matte for 24 hours. It is light weight, waterproof and it gives you full coverage and it comes in 45 shades to choose from. But it also is buildable coverage just in case you don’t want full coverage. And of course we can’t forget that helps too control your shine and keep your skin mat. I got this foundation in the color golden.
So does it past my test? Well in my personal opinion I really love this foundation. It definitely is full coverage so for me one pump of this foundation and I can blend into my skin very nicely and it doesn’t look cakey or fall into my pores to make it look bigger. I thought it would feel heavy or uncomfortable because it is full coverage but it was super comfortable on my face and by the end of the day it didn’t fall into my lines.
The only minor thing about this foundation is that within 4 to 5 HRS of wearing it my natural oils did come out. Not as much as if I was wearing a normal foundation but some good come through. But I really don’t care about that, I really care if it really felt heavy, if it made me break out more or if it made my skin really shiny then that would be a problem. Other than this minor issue, this foundation is beautiful to wear, the perfect color for my skin tone and it does make my skin look fresh and flawless. I really do enjoy wearing this foundation and would definitely recommend it to people who have oily, combination or normal skin types.
This foundation is honestly really good for the price and I really don’t care about the price as long as it works and this one does work. And the amount of shades you can choose from you can’t go wrong. Thank you for reading this on my blog and until next week have a good day my beauties!
Tip: if you have oily skin, maybe just wearing a powder foundation is best for you until you find the right liquid foundation. But always experiment when you can. If you have normal to dry skin usually a liquid foundation is better for your skin type so it looks dewy and fresh.
