Do you have a skincare obsession? Because I definitely do! I rely on my skincare pretty heavily because of my problematic skin and if it doesn’t work, then that’s a problem. And when it doesn’t work, your skin will let you know because if it’s an allergic reaction, it’s not absorbing properly or it just doesn’t work, which does happen and then you’re gonna have to go back to the drawing board and find something else. This is why research is key, even if it’s as simple as purchasing your next cleanser.
A cleanser is the first step in your skincare routine and you’re wondering why this part of the routine is so important. Well, simply put, you do not want a cleanser that will over dry and irritate the skin. True, you’ll be putting on a toner, serum and moisturizer afterwards but wouldn’t you rather just not have irritation or your skin feeling “too clean”? And yes your skin can feel little too clean and it can cause trouble on your face.
I know that you may want to have that very clean feeling and that everything is off your skin but it can do more harm than good. You have a natural moisture barrier on your skin and it can be bombarded by the weather, pollution, indoor environment like heat or air conditioning or even products that you use. And when this moisture barrier is not repaired properly it can lead to itchy skin, redness and flaking of the skin. And people with rosacea or eczema have this problem constantly and this is why they need to protect their skin at all times with a moisturizer and other gentle products as well. So this is why trying to avoid that “too clean” feeling can be helpful in anyone’s situation.
Lise Watier Cooling Foam Cream Cleanser
I have used their makeup products which are great, but I’ve never used any of their skincare products, so I figured I would slowly getting into their skincare collection by using a cleanser. This cleanser is based on Korean skincare and was actually made in a Korean laboratory. It is 150 ml and it cost $26.00. Lise Waiter is based in Quebec.
It is a cream based that turns into a foam when it comes into contact with water. Some of the ingredients in this cleanser is oat which soothes and hydrate, artichoke that helps to purify skin and methanol that is cooling to the skin. It is alcohol and paraben free and it is meant for all skin types.
My personal opinion on this cleanser is that it is great. I like the fact that a little bit goes a long way and it foams up very nicely and it also has a nice, light scent that disappears pretty quickly. Because it is a foam cleanser, it spreads very nicely on your face and if use a cleansing brush, it still does a great job cleaning your face. And for the most part, my skin is definitely clean and my pores look smaller and it leaves a nice, matte book.
In the colder weather season, my skin gets dehydrated pretty quickly, so right now it isn’t a factor but when we’ve had a few cold days already, my skin felt pretty tight and dehydrated after I cleansed my face in the morning. And I have combination skin. So for now, my skin should be OK with it, but when it does get colder and my skin still has that problem with it, I may have to switch it up. But so far, I’m enjoying this cleanser.
So have you already changed your skincare routine? Have you thought about changing your cleanser of all things? Let me know and comment on this post or on my social media! Have a good day my beauties!
Tip: usually milk cleansers are for dry or sensitive skin, gel cleansers are usually for combination to oily skin and foam or cream cleansers are usually for most skin types, it just depends on the ingredients in them and which type of cleanser you finally decide on. But ultimately, it is what you feel would be better for your skin.
