I love when the weather finely warms up and I can ditch my winter boots, skip my puffy jacket and don a trench coat or just a poncho. I can even put my sunglasses on that has been safely put in its case waiting for me to crack it open ‘cause I know it’s gonna be a sunny day. That’s when I know it’s officially spring. But if you live in Toronto, you should know better.
In a span of 24 hours it can go from being 15°, sunny and not a cloud in sight. All I need is a cotton shirt with my cozy hoodie, pair of jeans and sneakers and I can’t forget my sunglasses. And just when you think you can pack away your winter gear, the next day it’s 3°, cloudy and it’s actually snowing! In our country you really do have to be prepared and have two different outfits just in case. And if you think I’m kidding, you should definitely live here in Toronto for march and April and see what we have to live with. But if the weather goes up and down this drastically, how do you keep up with your skincare routine?
So this is not an easy question because there’s many different answers. You can either stick to your current skincare routine that you had all winter because your skin is that dry. You can buy a whole new skincare routine because you’re preparing for the warmer seasons ahead or you can be like me and slowly transition by adding a lighter moisturizer or still sticking with a hydrating mask instead of a clay mask ‘cause your skin is not that oily yet. Either way you can have to be in tune with your skin and see what makes your skin feel better and look better.
My skin for the most part it is better than what he used to be. I used to break out more because I didn’t know exactly what my skin wanted but now when this transitional weather comes around, my skin feels more dehydrated than anything. I still break out from time to time but I got that under control now. During this transitional weather I do alternate between two creams, one that has glycolic acid and the next evening I use one that is hydrating and also anti-aging. The one that I will be talking about in this article is the anti-aging one. Here is my full review on it.
Vivier daily age defying moisturizer
So I received this face moisturizer as a gift along with the eye cream from a company called the publicist group who help influencers, they are also a marketing and communications brand that is based in our beautiful city of Toronto. So I’m definitely glad that I’m working with a company that is Canadian based.
This brand of skincare is not found in any drugstore. It is only found in dermatologist office and as well cosmetic surgeons offices and maybe a few select spas. Because on their website, they have skincare products and even routines that I don’t really see in drugstores. Even if you found something similar in a drugstore, there are certain products in this skincare line with ingredients like vitamin C or retinol that are higher in concentration and therefore cannot be found in drugstores.
This specific anti-aging cream is non comedogenic which is good for all skin types including combination to oily skin, which I have. It is light weight, melts into the skin pretty quickly and it does have a very subtle scent but to it is so subtle that I don’t even smell it anymore after using it for three weeks. Some of the ingredients include rosemary extract which calms or soothes the skin, Shea butter that helps too hydrate and moisturize the skin and squalene which does help to moisturize but it is also an antioxidant to help protect the skin from free radicals. This product for purchase is $79.50.
My personal opinion on this face cream is so far so good. I have been using it for almost a month now and I have not broken out which is a good sign for me because face creams like this is new for me as I only used more light lotions on my face. This is my second anti-aging face cream and I am really happy that they have a light weight face cream for combination to oily skin like this one. I do use a serum with this face moisturizer and I don’t feel that it is heavy on my skin. My skin is sensitive to that weird heavy feeling when a moisturizer is too thick or is not absorbing and I do not feel out what this moisturizer. When I wake up in the morning, my skin does feel moisturized and it does look more awake especially when I’m not getting enough sleep, my skin looks ready to take on the day!
My skincare routine is pretty advanced for some people but it works for me, especially during this transitional weather. I know how my skin is going to react, I know when and why I break out and had to take care of it but I also know what my skin needs. It takes a long time to figure this out but once you know it will be hard to make decisions for your skin. After all your living with your skin, so you might as well love the skin you’re in! Until next week my beauties, have a good day!
Tip: while you moisturize your face, don’t forget to moisturize your neck and chest as well. Your skin on your neck and chest is also thin and therefore susceptible to sunspots and wrinkles. And don’t forget to put sunscreen there as well.
