I think we all know that cleansing is definitely a very important part of the skincare routine. Double cleansing or just using one cleanser is important because it preps your skin for the skincare that will be put on your freshly washed face. But did you also know that you have to change your cleanser according to the season? Because you do and I recently found that out myself.
When I was in my twenties and early thirties, my skin didn’t care what cleanser I used, I would just wash my face with gel cleanser and it would be fine. Now, if I use a gel cleanser in the fall and winter season, my skin will feel very tight and dehydrated. Unfortunately my skin is not as oily as it used to be, at least not all year round. Now, I know what I should be using and when.
This summer, I got a couple gel cleansers to try out and found both of them to be useful. But the one that I will be writing about today is the crazy, popular cleanser that is hard to come by. I admit that I wanted to try it and other products from them because literally all the products were out of stock constantly. So when I got my hands on this cleanser, I figured give it a try and if it goes well, I will give other products a try from this line. Read on for my latest review on this popular cleanser.
Cerave SA gel cleanser
This salicylic acid cleanser is a gel type, comes in a pump format and you get 237 ml of it. The cost is $19.99 which is pretty affordable and there’s no parabens, no alcohol and no fragrance. There is less than 2% of salicylic acid and this is fine for most skin types. It also contains hyaluronic acid and ceramides which helps to hydrate and keep moisture in the skin.
I’ve been using this cleanser for most of the summer and it has been gentle and it doesn’t strip my skin. You don’t have to use a full pump to wash your face because a little goes a long way. It doesn’t really lather up but it spreads very nicely on the skin and it doesn’t irritate it at all. I like it because it doesn’t have any fragrance and for my oily but dehydrated skin, it doesn’t leave my skin with a tight feeling.
This is great for most skin types but because its a gel based cleanser, I don’t think it would be appropriate for drier skin types. Now, do I think it’s worth all this hype around this cleanser and the brand itself? Well, this is my first product I’ve tried from them and it’s going well. But I can name two other cleansers that our just as good, if not better and there about the same price as this one. So for me who has worked in the beauty industry, yes I would recommend it because it’s good but this cleanser is not any more special than the other cleansers that are similar or better than this product.
Sometimes these trends can be helpful and I’m glad this time it was a great find. It can definitely be a hit or a miss but as long as you do your research and its just the product are looking for, then by all means go for it! But don’t get it because it’s trending, get it because its actually good and also affordable. Because I had a good experience with this cleanser, I’m definitely interested in trying out more from this line.
Thank you for reading my latest post and I hope to see you here with a new one! Have a good day my beauties.
