It wasn’t until my mid twenties that I started to consistently use an eye cream. Before that I would only use one when I needed it like using it on special occasions or if I didn get enough sleep the night before and I used it to just help calm down the bags and minimize the dark circles. But when I hit my mid-twenties I notice that my dark circles seem to get a bit darker. I only noticed this because I start using concealers all the time to help hide them. This was around the time I started too seriously get into a routine of wearing an eye cream everyday.
I’m now 36 and I’ve seen the long-term use of using an eye cream. Using one has kept my dark circles at bay and even though I’ve noticed some fine lines around my eyes, I’m sure it can look worse without using an eye cream. I have even started using eye masks but I’m not that consistent with them. I really only use them when I need them like when I’m going out for a special occasion or if I look pretty tired on some days or if I just want to treat myself and have a relaxing day of using a face mask and an eye mask.
My main concern for my eye area is the dark circles and fine lines. So what I need my eye cream to do for me is to help brighten the eye area, hydrate the skin and also be able to combat the wrinkles around the eye area. Plus I need the formula to be light weight in texture so it can absorb easily and it won’t disturb my concealer. And these days it’s definitely not a lot to ask for in an eye cream because there’s so many that you can choose from.
Vivier radiant eye contour cream
This eye cream was a gift along with the face cream that I’ve received as well by The publicist group. This line is a very exclusive line and can only be bought in certain places like a dermatologist office. The eye cream is $79.00 so it is not a cheap by, but an investment to your skincare routine. So it is it worth the money or is it not?
So let me tell you a bit about this eye cream. It is aid gel like texture, so don’t let the actual cream fool you. Because it is also a radiant eye cream that helps too tone, firm the skin, as well as brighten the eye contour area, it contains vitamins C and E to help brighten and moisturize the eye area, as well as peptides and pro vitamin B5 to help reduced the appearance of aging and fatigue. It is alcohol free, paraben free and it’s also hypoallergenic. And if you have fine lines around the lip area you can also use it on the contours of your lips to help minimize the wrinkles there as well.
So if it worth it? I have been using it for over a month now and I totally love this eye cream! When I applied this eye cream, I feel like it gives you a boost of hydration immediately because it melts into the skin quickly and it instantly wakes up your skin. I was a bit surprised at how watery the texture was, because I thought when I first opened it that it was going to be a heavier texture.
Before I applied my makeup, the skin around the eye area feels smooth to the touch and my concealer goes on nicely. Plus it doesn’t make my makeup crease or look greasy at all throughout the day. And because of this gel like texture, it is definitely perfect for all skin types and yes it is good for oily skin to. I also like the fact that it doesn’t have a scent because putting something this close to the eye, I would prefer not to have a scent to avoid irritation which can be problematic for me sometimes if the scent is too strong.
For me, this eye cream is definitely worth it because I can see the results. This eye cream is definitely perfect for the warmer weather ahead of us and I can definitely pop it in the fridge, so if I do have those days where my under eye bags are more prominent, it will help to cool the eye area and the bags down.
My skincare routine for the summer season is finally complete. I definitely will be reviewing the products in future posts. Until then, have a good week my beauties!
Tip: you only need a pea size amount of an eye cream for both eyes. The skin around this area is thin, so you don’t have to pack it on to get the results you want. And by gently tapping around the eye area with the eye cream is all you need to have the eye cream absorb effectively and it also stimulates the eye area so you look more awake.
