Other than my obsession with finding the right lip gloss or treatment, I have thing for mascara. I know what I want it to do so I need to find that it mascara. My latest mascara was given to me through a campaign by Canadian beauty bloggers. It is the newest mascara by Givenchy the Noir Interdit
Over the years been in the beauty industry, you get to try on lots of different makeup and skincare. That’s including mascara where I’ve seen them all and tried them all. I’ve tried mascara with volume, length, definition or just natural looking lashes. I’ve even tried brushes that are thick, thin, soft bristle and plastic like bristle. I even had one that was vibrating. That one was by Lancôme and years ago they came out with a mascara that the wand was softly vibrating your lashes. It was a cool feeling, kind of ticklish but great results.
This Givenchy mascara comes out of the tube straight but can be bent at a 90° angle. How cool is that? I’ve never had a mascara wand that does this! This is so cool but here I was thinking “is this going to be difficult to use?” so I had my doubts, but by the end of the first application I was hooked! Not only is it super easy, but it gets all your lashes including those little pesky ones that you can’t seem to get.
The wand itself looks like a handheld fan and fans out from small bristles on the outside to the big bristle on the inside. This makes for getting all long and short lashes and easily combing the mascara through without it clumping. Because of the comb like brush, there was no clumps left on my lashes.
It does have a slight scent and usually am allergic to it. But I’ve been using it for the past couple days and so far I have not had a reaction. Thank god because I would cry! The packaging is very simple and rectangle, but the handle for me is a bit too bulky in my hand. I have very small hands, so that’s a personal thing for me. I’m sure a lot of women won’t have the problem, but it’s just what I observed.
As I said in the beginning of this article, I look for volume and length in the mascara. This mascara gives you incredible length but also gives you
some volumes. By layering it over and over again you’ll get the volume you want. When I were throughout the day it did not flake off or smudge. It’s long wearing and it comes off easily. The pigments in this mascara is very bold and black which I love.
The moral to this story: even if you’re hesitant about trying something new, try it anyway. I’m very much enjoying this mascara and its new brush. So I hope this inspires you to try new things out, small changes or big changes, it’s scary at first but you’re glad that it happened. Even if it’s just a mascara wand. Have a good week my beauties!
