For some weird reason I waited years to use this foundation and I’m not sure why. But I’m glad that I finally got to getting around to use it and I’m so excited to share this review with you about this Smashbox studio skin 15 hour where foundation.
I always thought long where foundations were sticky, greasy and wouldn’t let your skin breathe. But when I actually started wearing liquid foundations I first started wearing tinted moisturizers, then light to medium coverage foundations, because my skin at that time was very oily and even if I wanted to wear a Daylong wear or full coverage one which I did a few times with a few different foundations it just felt too heavy for my skin. Then I was introduced to Dior air flash foundation which is super light but full coverage as well. I wore this foundation for about 10 years off and on. That’s how much I’ve loved it and I would totally recommend it anytime to anyone.
So because I had my fave full coverage foundation, there was no need for me to find another. But over the years Smashbox has been a staple of some sort in my makeup collection. From there eyelid primer to their mineral powder foundation, I’ve used quite a bit of products from them with success. So when I finished my current foundations and was in need of a new one for the summer I decided to take the plunge and purchase this one. Read on for full review on this product.
Smashbox studio skin 15 hour foundation
This foundation is long wearing, medium to full coverage, demi matte and the most important to me has a fair amount of shades to choose from (22 shades to be exact) at $46.00 a bottle it’s not cheap and it promises quite a bit. Does it stay on well? Does it feel heavy on the skin? How can it keep your face looking fresh but also keeping it matte? These were all the questions I too had going into this purchase.
But it is totally worth buying it. This is the best foundation I’ve come across literally in 10 years. From the very first application of this product, I could already see a big difference from my previous foundation. I can build up on the coverage if I want to but a couple of pumps of it gives me the perfect coverage and not to mention the fact that it matches my skin perfectly is what I love so much about this foundation plus keeping my skin mat also helps to. It does set quickly on its own so sponge it on or brush it on quickly and you’re set for the day. And by the end of the day my skin did not feel sticky or greasy or even felt heavy with this long wear foundation. The longest I had it on for was about 12 hours and it still felt very comfortable and breathable. And even when it was very hot and humid outside, it did not budge and it still felt very fresh and comfortable on the skin, plus it didn’t add any more shine to my already oily skin.
What does Demi matte mean? It is oil free but it gives you some hydration to the skin while giving you a light matte look. It doesn’t add shine to your skin but rather it gives you a nice even glow to your face without making you look flat like some foundations for oily skin do. Plus it totally minimized and blurred my pores and any breakouts I had.
So to say that I love this foundation is an understatement! I give this foundation two thumbs way up. I know this summer my skin will be looking its best and shine free and I don’t need to worry about blotting my face with blotting paper literally every 2 hours. So if you have oily skin like me and your in the market for a new foundation, try this one, you won’t be sorry. Until next week my beauties have a good day!
Tip: If you mix a few drops to your daily moisturizer, it will give you a more natural look. As well if your sunscreen goes on too white on your skin, mix a drop or two of this foundation to tone down the whiteness of the sunscreen.
