I always say try everything once!  Especially with makeup and skincare, but I know the latter can be a bit difficult for some.  You may have sensitive skin and you can’t really jump from one product to another because it may cause a flare up on your skin and totally unbalance it which I get.  And if it’s not that, you may stick to certain companies that you trust already and you bounce from one collection to another within that skincare company.  Or you may just like the textures like a gel like texture or a very nourishing and creamy texture.  Whatever the case may be, trying out new skincare can be a daunting experience for some.

But in my case that is definitely not me!  I am always obsessively looking for the next product to use even if I don’t need anything right now, I look out for skincare products that I’ve never used, check out the ingredients on them to see if it would bother my skin and also look for other skincare junkies who have used these products and see what they have to say.

When I do look for skincare products that I need to add to my routine, I do tend to fall into the trap of going towards skincare companies I’ve used in the past.  But what if the company has changed their products or has a new skincare collection?  I mean what if they went vegan?  Well, there’s always a first!  What if its natural products?  As long as they don’t have a strong scent, let’s do it!  What if it’s a different type of cleanser?  Let’s try it!

And this is why I was drawn to the new Ole Henriksen truth jelly cleanser.  I did use their banana eye cream from the same line and I had great results from it, so I was intrigued by this new cleanser they came out with.  Read on to find out what my experience with this cleanser was.

Ole Henriksen Truth Juice Daily Cleanser

From the truth collection, this new juice cleanser is said to get rid of all your makeup including long lasting foundation and eye makeup.  Let me tell a little bit about it first.  At $37.00 and 150 ml, it is pretty pricey.  There is no parabens, no bad alcohol and it does have a citrus fragrance to it.  When you squeeze it out of the bottle, it is a pale orange, jelly like texture and spreads evenly and easily on your skin.

One of the main ingredients is PHA which helps too loosen your dead skin cells and makeup for easier cleansing.  It has orange fruit water which helps to refresh the skin as well as orange, lemon, rose hip, gojiberry which all help too brighten and even skin tone.  And it also promises that it won’t strip the skin, leaving it refreshed and clean from all makeup.

My personal opinion is I think I should have used this cleanser in the spring and summer season.  It is definitely deep cleaning and I usually have to use a cleansing water before I wash my face, but this cleanser let me skip that step.  I definitely do enjoy using this cleanser quite a bit but even for my combination skin, it left it feeling tight and dehydrated.  Thank goodness for hydrating toners!

On the warmer days we did have, it didn’t feel so bad on the skin and that’s why I thought this is perfect for warmer weather.  But I have been using it for the last couple months and overall I enjoyed this cleanser.  I still love the citrus scent in this cleanser, it is so invigorating and it does wake me up a little, especially in the morning.  I love how this jellied like texture spreads nicely on the skin and you don’t need a lot.

I would recommend this cleanser but for me personally, I would use it in the warmer weather.  It definitely is getting warmer now, so when I do my final review I’ll let you know how I feel about this cleanser.  But I do love it and I plan to keep using it like I have been for the last couple months.

Thank you for reading my latest review and I’ll see you next week my beauties!

Tip: as you can tell in this article, it’s never easy finding what works for you.  But if you do give it a try, at least you know what doesn’t work for you.  So give makeup or skincare a good try before you make a hasty decision.
