For the last couple years, I’ve been wearing full coverage foundation. When I was younger and I finally started wearing makeup, I was only able to wear a powder foundation because of my oily skin. It wasn’t until my mid to late twenties that I actually ventured into liquid foundations but even then I wore light to medium coverage foundations, foundations that were a mousse or even tinted moisturizers. The only full coverage foundation I ever used was the Dior air flash which was pure pigments that you sprayed on your face. This was the only full coverage foundation I ever wore until a couple years ago.
When my skin started to change from being oily all year round to now combination skin in the fall and winter season, I finally ventured into buying a full coverage foundation. Today, almost all companies have a full coverage foundation but now they have ones that are catered to combination to oily skin because believe it or not back in the day I didn have options and even if I did, a full coverage foundation meant it was going to feel heavy and uncomfortable on my skin.
But today we have options for all types of foundations, whether we want it matte or dewy finish and whether we want a natural coverage too full coverage foundations. I finally decided to break away from a full coverage foundation and dial it down to a medium coverage foundation. My skin has been looking better with the skincare I am using and to be honest, I just wanted a rest from wearing one. My skin finally looks pretty decent so I just want my skin to feel good in the foundation I’m wearing. Read on for more on the new foundation I am currently using.
Urban Decay Stay Naked Foundation
Just recently I’ve been trying a few things from this company and been loving their lipstick and their mascaras. So when I was shopping around looking for a new foundation, this one fit the bill perfectly. This is urban decay’s new foundation that is medium coverage, 24 hour wear that is weightless and gives you a matte finish and helps to minimize pores and enhances your skin instead of covering it. This new foundation comes in 50 different shades and it comes in a 30 ml bottle for $53.00.
The shade I picked in this foundation is 51WY which does mean something in the shade range. 51 means medium shade intensity, W means warm which is the master tone and Y means yellow which is undertone. This is very helpful especially when you have 50 shades to choose from.
It’s been awhile since I’ve used a medium coverage foundation and I’ve forgotten how good it feels. I am in love with this foundation! It is so easy to put on and it literally feels like nothing on your skin, which I instantly fell in love with and I can’t get over how my skin feels and looks in this foundation. It definitely feels weightless on the skin, helps to minimize my pores and it’s super fluid texture helps me to use less of it and in one pump I get the coverage I need
Between the skincare routine that has helped me with better looking skin and this foundation, my skin has never looked better. This foundation might be a bit pricey but it definitely is worth the price. I want a foundation that gives me a glow to my skin, enhances my skin essentially instead of covering up and I wanted to look natural now that my skin has gotten better. Since I started wearing this foundation, I’ve gotten many compliments about it.
I definitely would recommend this foundation and since I do have combination to oily skin, it definitely would be perfect for that skin type as it feels like nothing on the skin. It gives you a nice matte finish and it is a 24 hour wear but I’ve only worn it for about 14 hours and minus my oily skin, it did stay on and did not crease on my face and it still look pretty flawless.
Whatever foundation you end up choosing, make sure it enhances your skin and not covers it. Don’t follow what anyone else does, do what makes you comfortable and if it’s not about applying a couple of layers of makeup, then don’t do it and if you just want to wear a tinted moisturizer, then do so. Remember you’re the one wearing the makeup! Until next week my beauties, have a great day!
Tip: if you want to thin out your foundation, pump out a small amount on to the back of your hand and pump a small amount of your favorite serum or moisturizer and mix it together to get a more natural look.
