If you’ve been with me for while now, you’ll know I have a lip balm obsession! I don’t really wear lipsticks or long lasting lipsticks because I find them to be to drying. So I stick to lip glosses and lip treatments and I slather these on religiously when I need them. You basically won’t see me without one or both of these products on my lips. So I’m always looking for a great lip balm or gloss that will meet my high standards.
Just in case you didn’t know, I have chronic dry lips all year round and they tend to get drier in the winter but if I don’t apply a lip balm they can start burning, get dry and flaky and start cracking. In the summer, it definitely is better but I do have to protect them just the same. So what does a woman like me do when she needs to get a new lip balm? Well, it has to wear well alone or under my gloss, last throughout the day so I don’t have to reapply constantly because that can get annoying. But most of all, I just need something to comfort and protect my lips.
Enter a skincare brand called Adama minerals. They sent me an e-mail wanting me to try their skincare which was wonderful but I asked if they have lip balms, to send me those instead so I can try them out. They sent me seven, natural and Vegan friendly lip balms to try and a couple weeks later here I am reviewing them.

This is a sponsored collaboration but if you know me as well, you know I will be honest with product review. Especially when it comes to lip treatment as my lips are sensitive and they can easily get irritated. So let me tell you a little bit about the company before we get into the nitty gritty!
This skincare company was founded by the owner who had gum issues and needed a solution to help take care of his gums as well as his teeth. And that’s where clay comes in. This whole brand including toothpaste, shampoo, skincare including the lip balms have some type of clay in their products. Whether it helps two detoxify, mattify or heal the skin, clay has benefits that will helps treat your skin.https://adamaminerals.com/ here is the website where you can take a look at their products.
These adama lip balms are organic, Vegan friendly and there is no harsh chemicals like parabens, alcohol and no fake or added fragrance, the fragrance comes from the ingredients that they use. Per tube is $6.00 Canadian which is pretty affordable. The ingredients in each lipbalm are pretty similar, the only difference being is the oil and flavoring of the lip balm. The one that was pretty different from the others was the lemon balm https://adamaminerals.com/skin-care/lip-balm/hydrating-lip-balm-lemon-vegan because that particular lip balm is more of healing and repairing one. On top of the lemonbalm And lemon peel oil , It also has Sunflower seed oil, coconut oil, castor oil, candeliila wax, sunflower seed oil, Shea butter, peppermint oil, calcium montmorillonite clay, tea Tree oil, tamanu oil, rosemary extract, vitamin E, aloe Vera and clove oil.
As for the other six lipbalms that was given, other than the flavouring and the oil, they have similar ingredients in all of them. The ingredients in these lip balms are sunflower seed oil, beeswax, extra virgin olive oil, hemp oil, rosemary leaf extract, bentonite clay and a vitamin E.
For the last two weeks, I have been using each one of them to see if there would be any difference, texture, how would smelled and how it felt under a lip gloss. The lemon balm however was actually quite emollient to my surprise! Not that it’s heavy, it is the one that heels and repairs the lips. This one in particular was pretty awesome when I had a few days of my lips being particularly dry. Before going to bed, I applied this lip balm which you don’t need to apply too much because it’s so nourishing and hydrating and in the morning my lips would be soft and definitely less dry. You could call this my lip mask because it certainly comforted and protected my dry lips. This particular lip balm to left a tingling and refreshing sensation for about 10 to 20 minutes and then disappeared. It did not burn or hurt my lips, it just felt refreshing and soothing. This scent was also fairly strong bought it did not last that long, maybe about five or 10 minutes and the scent was undetectable which I like. Also, rosemary mint lipbalm left a tingling sensation but it was refreshed and was gone in a matter of minutes. The scent was a bit strong but it dissipated after a few minutes but because of its thinner texture, I could wear this under my lip gloss. https://adamaminerals.com/skin-care/lip-balm/hydrating-lip-balm-rosemary-mint
As for the six others like the orange blossom one https://adamaminerals.com/skin-care/lip-balm/hydrating-lip-balm-orange-blossom or the pomegranate lipbalm https://adamaminerals.com/skin-care/lip-balm/hydrating-lip-balm-pomegranate Worked well under my lip gloss. I honestly only had to reapply a couple times a day. Yes it stayed on top of my lips but worked deeply into my lips to keep them hydrated and well moisturized all day. Even after I ate or drink, I seriously felt this lip balm still on my lips. I just needed to reapply my lip gloss and I’m done. But don’t worry, this lip balm like the elderberry https://adamaminerals.com/skin-care/lip-balm/adama-minerals-hydrating-lip-balm-elderberry Left a matte finish, did not feel thick and did not make my lip gloss feather or bleed.
I must say that these lip balms met my high standards and I enjoyed using every single one of them. I definitely recommend these lip balms and the scents are so nice and subtle. And if you know me, I don’t like a particularly strong scent considering that I have to layer products, I don’t want to have a strong scent especially near the face. But because I don’t mind a subtle scent, I’m more attracted to a sweet or fruity smell. So definitely my favorite scents were the elderberry, coconut bliss and sunset mango. https://adamaminerals.com/skin-care/lip-balm/hydrating-lip-balm-coconut-bliss But out of all of them, my favorite is the sunset mango. It just reminds me of the fruit and I just immediately fell in love with it. https://adamaminerals.com/skin-care/lip-balm/hydrating-lip-balm-sunset-mango
