When you’re obsessed with skincare like me, you want to try everything at least once! Because there’s so many skincare products out there, it’s just exciting to see what will end up on my vanity. But what if their products that you can’t live without? That you just keep buying over and over again because they are so damn good? Now, what if they discontinued the product you love, brought out a similar product that you are using before and then it just didn’t work? What would you do?
When a company that I used to buy my blush spot treatment from revamped their skincare including my spot treatment, I bought it but unfortunately it wasn’t the same and I had to return it. Since last year, I have been looking for a spot treatment and it’s just not the same. I’ve used a couple but none of them have worked out. This has been a problem since I can’t find a blemish spot treatment that works just as well as the one I had before.
So now what do I do? Well, I have to try products out, ask my beauty community what they can recommend, research what is the best-selling ones currently and decide which one I want to try next. Of course, there’s price points to consider and also what ingredients make it so effective because it has to work. And for me, I need a blemish spot treatment to work. So for this post, I will be talking about the current acne spot treatment I am using. Read on for more details.
Proactiv emergency blemish relief
This acne spot treatment has the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide which they have put 5% of it and this product. It is 9.45 g in weight and the cost of it is $30.00. It is a creamy like texture that dries up fast on the skin and it comes in easy squeeze tube and has no alcohol in it. But for people who are avoiding parabens and fragrance, this product does have both but they are on the bottom of the ingredient list.
My personal opinion on this product is that it is OK. The reason why I say this is because it helps reduce some of my breakouts and not all of them unfortunately. I’m not sure why, but this formula seems to be tying that working for my skin but maybe it’s not strong enough. And I have been using this product for a couple months now just so you know where I’m coming from and how long I’ve been using it.
It is a weird experience for me because when I do use it on some of my acne, it seems to make them go way in a few days but with other breakouts I’ve had especially on my chin and neck area, when I’d dab this cream on them, it seems to take a couple weeks for them to go away. Maybe it’s the type of acne I have that doesn’t seem too work with this product but again when I have a acne spot on my face, it seems to work with those breakouts. You see how confusing it can be using this product?
Plus this product has an overwhelming fragrance for me that smells like bergamot or musk. I’d don’t know what it is exactly but it is a bit too strong and I’d don’t like overwhelming scents in my skincare products. This is also another factor as to why I may not buy it again. I think after using this product, I will buy other products to compare and see which ones are good. Because for $30.00, I would like to have a product like this one be pretty effective and not just 50/50.
I know this owes a confusing product review but unfortunately this is how I feel towards this product. I have a product that sometimes work on my acne and it’s very confusing for me to. That is why I wont to a final review on my Instagram page just so I can try other blemish treatment products first and compare them to this product to see which one is more effective on my acne. So look out for other blog posts in the future for other acne spot treatments I’ll be using and hopefully they’ll be more affordable than this one. Talk to you later my beauties and see you next week!
Tip there’s so many makeup and skincare products out there, it can be difficult to choose from. Even if you see other influencers, your friends or blog like mine talk about products that might be good for you, sometimes may not work for you. Especially in skincare, it can be hit or miss. Always go with your skin type, your issues with your skin and look for products for your skin not what other people are using.
