bioderma cleansing water

By now you may know I take my skincare routine very seriously.  I wear my sunscreen everyday no matter the weather, I’d take off my makeup before bed, even if I’m dragging myself into the house because I’m so tired I know the consequences if I don’t.  And because of my combination to oily skin, I’d keep my moisturizers oil free and a lotion format and I wear a serum at night only.  So yes I do know how my skin acts at this point in my life and I know what it does when it doesn’t like something I started using.

So when I bought my last makeup remover which is a cleansing water and I’ve used many cleansing waters in the past which I’ve never reacted to, for some reason I reacted to this one.  Even though it was oil free, alcohol free and paraben free I still checked the ingredients in it and it seemed fine.  But even when I used it the first few times I just noticed it left a residue behind but it didn’t feel good on the skin.  It didn’t act like a cleansing water where it would absorb quickly afterwards, it just sat on the skin and it felt kind of oily even though it said it was oil free.  So I used it for a couple more weeks and I started noticing little balms forming on the orbital bone area.  After that I immediately discontinued using it and within a few days to a week the bumps disappeared.

Needless to say I have had to find another eye makeup remover that I can trust that will not make me break out like the last one.  I have gone back to a cleansing water that I’ve used many times in the past before and one that I can trust with my skin.  Even when my skin was much oilier than it is now, this cleansing water never failed me.  Here is my current review of my new eye makeup remover.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle solution

I am currently using a cleanser and a cleansing water but for oily skin, so I only use this one as my toner.  But this cleansing water is for sensitive, fragile skin and since its arrival to Canada several years ago it has been the most popular eye makeup remover.  But it’s not only for sensitive skin types.  I’ve noticed that anyone can use this cleansing water, even for oily skin can use this without breaking out.

First of all there’s not a lot of ingredients in this product which is good.  Not only does it remove all different types of makeup including long wearing and waterproof makeup, it leaves your skin feeling refreshed and light.  Cucumber extract and fatty Esters help calm and soothe the skin and help restore hydration to your skin as well.

This cleansing water is probably one of the best eye makeup remover I’ve used.  It doesn’t matter what skin type you have, whether you have dry skin, normal skin or oily skin, it works for everyone’s skin!  It is so light and refreshing on the skin and the fact that it doesn’t leave any residue whatsoever after removing my makeup is amazing.  It is so effective that even when I had allergies (not makeup related) and my eyes were watering and itching like crazy, I would saturate a cotton pad with this cleansing water and put it over my eyes for few minutes to help calm them down which worked!  That’s how good this cleansing water is.

So yes I would recommend this to everyone because it’s really a great and universal product that can be used by everyone.  For $22.90 for 500 ml it will last a while.  But if you’re not ready for that commitment they do have a smaller one at 250 ml for $14.90.

Until next week my beauties have a good day!

Tip: if you’re not comfortable about using a cleansing water like the one I’ve talked about, some companies have come out with ones that are specifically to your skin type.  They are just as effective and because it’s geared to a certain skin type, they will have qualities that will keep your skin mat or keep your skin hydrated.
