shiseido blotting paper

Blotting papers: an oily skin best friend.  They keep your skin shine free and fresh faced throughout the day.  And you fall in love with them instantly because they don’t leave anything behind, they take away all the bad yucky stuff (excess oil) and they’re quick and easy to use.  Plus, the kind of routine you want for your oily skin is a very simple one that consists of as least products on your skin to avoid breakouts and having that very heavy feeling on your skin when you’re wearing too much product.  So if you’re like me and you want to avoid reapplying primers, powders and balms to matify the skin throughout the day, blotting papers are the way to go.

These sheets of miracle came into my life in my early twenties when I discovered them at my local drugstore.  Since then I’ve used many different blotting papers from various companies, as well as products specifically made for taking away the excess oil.  But I just didn’t feel comfortable putting all that extra product on my face, neither did my face.  So I’ve always gone back to using blotting papers and there always in my makeup bag and wherever I go.  In this article I will review my current blotting paper I use.

Over the years I have used these blotting papers.  They are fairly expensive than the rest at about $22.00 vs.  The normal 5 to 8 dollar range that they usually go for, it is quite a splurge.  But it stands out among to rest because it comes in and beautiful, mint green package vs.  The usual little box that all blotting paper in.  Each package comes with 100 sheets and with me that will last a couple months.  Depending on the season and how shiny my skin gets throughout the day, I can use 1 to 2 sheets a day.

On one side of the sheet, there is a powder that helps to absorb excess oil which for me personally does not get left behind on my face and it is a good size of a paper to absorb all the oil in one sheet.  There is a very slight smell to it but it doesn’t get left behind on your face.  Then I use my powder to lightly touch up and I’m done.

I love using blotting papers especially these ones because of the powder on the one side.  These blotting papers come in handy for me because I only have to use one sheet while some other blotting papers I’ve had to use two in one sitting.

I personally have used products that help to absorb excess oil, but the unfortunate issue is that you have to reapply them throughout the day to maintain a shine free face.  For me, my face felt uncomfortable and weighted with all that product on my face at the end of the day.  This is my personal experience and this may not happen to you, but choose wisely and choose what makes your skin comfortable.  Until next week have a good week my beauties!
