loreal lash primer

Who doesn’t have a favorite mascara that no matter what it is your go too?  It’s like you’re back up when your current mascara is not living up to expectations and you know that mascara that you rely on gives you the best looking lashes possible.  Now what if you can amp up the volume or length and even the wear of your mascara?  How is that even possible?  Well you’re gonna love having a lash primer after reading this post.

I do get clients who have never used a lash primer and ask questions as to why I need one.  I was one many years ago when I was introduced to a primer myself and I’ve been loving the results from it ever since.  My lashes looks longer and fuller when I use one plus I don’t wear waterproof mascara because it’s tough to take off and using a lash primer helps to extend the wear of the mascara but makes it easy to wash off at the end of the day.  Plus it can be worn to sleep at night to help strengthen and nourish your lashes.  It’s definitely a multi-tasked product that can easily be put into your routine, so here is my review on my current lash primer.

L’oreal lash base

Over the years I’ve tried many lash primers but I haven’t tried a drugstore version.  Only because a lot of them still don’t have a timer like this and this is my first one from L’oreal.  This is a lash primer that is white with a soft bristle brush.  It contains rose fruit oil, beeswax and jojoba oil.  It is supposed to moisturize and nourish the lashes while keeping mascara from flaking off and extend the wear of the mascara.

So my personal opinion on this primer is that it’s not that bad.  For $10.99 it’s a reasonable price for a drugstore primer.  It does go on nice and even and it doesn’t dry too fast to not be able to put your mascara on which is quite difficult once the primer dries.  My mascara does not flake off, it stays on all day and when I wash my face the primer and the mascara wash off very easily.

Now my issue with this primer is that it has alcohol in it which I am not fond of and a bit surprised that they will put that ingredient in a primer.  For a lot are reasons I don’t have to tell you why I don’t like alcohol in skincare or even make up products because I don’t think it’s necessary for it to be in beauty products.  Although it doesn’t irritate my lashes or even my eyes I find it a bit uncomfortable too be putting this anywhere around the eye area.

Although I won’t be purchasing this again, it wasn’t a bad primer to use.  There are other ones out there that doesn’t have alcohol and them and I am going to be looking for ones that are affordable or maybe splurge and buy luxury lash primer.  So until next week I will see you then my beauties!
