What makeup junkie doesn’t love a launch of a new makeup product from their fave brand or even the launch of a new brand altogether? It can be daunting especially if it’s a new brand and you really don’t know too much about them. The only people you seen using it is influencers on social media or even reading about it online and all you can do is trust them and trust your gut that it might workout. But you also want to be the first amongst your makeup junkie friends to use these products as well.
These days there are many little “indie” makeup Brands that are everywhere. And it’s hard to either choose a line you know and trust or go the indie way. But one of the things I like about smaller companies is they may not have a lot to choose from but the products they do sell they do pour their heart and soul into them that you can’t find in bigger lines. And sometimes that perfect product your looking for, you found it in a smaller makeup brand.
So what if a line comes to you and wants to give you some products to try but you’ve never heard about them because they are literally just launching their new makeup and skincare line? Well it doesn’t hurt to try considering its free and you’re part of a group that gets to test out these wonderful products. So I got a a combination of makeup and skincare products that I will be trying out in the next few weeks and will be writing about it on my blog. So in this article I’ll be talking about their two types of lip sticks they gave me.
Teencrush switch on tint
Now you know me and my lip treatments but I don’t talk too much about lipsticks or glosses. And this particular product however is a tint which gives you bold color of lipstick but the added benefits of a lip gloss that gives you shine and moisture.
First of all the packaging of pink and silver is so cute and I love it. It’s fun and pretty looking but at the same time compact and easy to use. When you uncap it, there is th
e sponge tip which easily applies the color onto lips. The two colors I received were Self Beam which is a coral color and Pretty Beam which is a more berry color. You can either apply it on full coverage by applying it all over the lips or sometimes if I want a more natural touch of color I just use the sponge tip to dot it in the middle of my lips and use my fingers to spread it so it looks like a stain.
Out of the two lip sticks I got from this company, these two lip tints are my favorite ones to use. The colors were what I expected but I was surprised at how bold and how much pigments they have. You really don’t need to use a lot and it is moisturizing and gives you some shine like a gloss. Like a lip gloss it does come off easily and if you want to keep the bold color going all day you do need to reapply but when it does fade away it does leave a stain like look so you can add a bit of a clear gloss on top of it if you want to add some shine.
Teencrush matte lip lacquer
So the two colors I got for the lip lacquer are called peach happening and oops orange. On my lips the peach happening looks more of coral and the oops orange looks more of a red with the orange tint to it. The lip lacquer surprised me as the colors had a softer pigment load than the lip tint but it still has more color than a lip gloss. In fact it is actually matte, so it does give you color if you build it up but it can be applied once or twice to give you a nice subtle look.
When I first applied this on I had to make sure that I scrub my lips and prime it with a lip balm to make sure it didn’t show any dryness on the lips. Because it is a thick lip pencil it is easy to apply and it dries fairly quickly. It does stay on until you eat or wipe it off so there is no need to apply it on very often like a lip gloss but I was actually surprised at how long it lasted on my lips.
For me the colors are beautiful, I like how you can build it up from a soft look to a bolder look and I like how it stayed on and I didn’t have to reapply it often. But for me I do apply a bi
t of a lip gloss on top of it because I do need that extra moisture to keep my lips supple.
This is why I loved the beauty industry. There are all these little makeup companies like this one who have amazing products to try out. I definitely enjoyed using these lip products and can’t wait to find other little makeup companies yet to be discovered. I’ll see you beauties next week!
Tip: want your lipstick or gloss to stay on longer or look bolder? Use your concealer first, preferably one that is not so creamy and apply your lipstick or gloss on and set it with setting spray to lock it in place.
