In Toronto our weather can change within 24 hours especially when the seasons are changing. It can literally be 35° one day with humidity and then 15° and windy the next. So what happens to your skincare? Do you drastically change it and be prepared? Or stick to the same routine you had until it becomes necessary to change it up? This isn’t really an easy question to answer because every ones skin is different and will react differently, but this is a good time to start paying attention to your skin.
If your skin feeling a little parched or a little on the dryer side now? Does it look less shiny or even looking a little lackluster? Maybe adding a hydrating mask or a thermal spray to help keep it hydrated. Or maybe adding a serum if you’re not using one yet to keep your skin supple so it can stay balanced throughout the changing of the weather. Just one or two changes to your skincare routine right now can make a difference in your skin and a smooth transition into colder weather.
Like for me when I oily skin, no matter what season it was I could use a clay mask. But the last couple years as the seasons change my skin does change too, from an oily skin type in the summer to a more combination skin in the fall and winter season. So using a clay mask that is for oily skin that’s designed to dry out excess oils to balance it out isn’t for me. But I still need a clay mask that will purify and help keep my skin shine free but not dry out all my oils at of my skin ‘cause my skin feels tight and looks dehydrated from using that type of mask. Is there such a mask that can keep my skin mat and tighten my pores and all the while not making it feel dehydrated and tight? Read on for my full review.
Marcelle purifying clay mask
Did you know that this brand originally from Chicago but now Montreal based is over 100 years old? I didn’t know that till now and I’ve worked with this brand for over a decade! Well I know them as having one of the best-selling eye makeup remover plus they have several different makeup removers that is perfect for all types of makeup including waterproof and perfect for sensitive eyes.
It seems like they just launched this new mask and it was perfect timing that I needed a new one. This purifying mask is great for sensitive skin because it is perfume free, paraben free, oil free and non comedogenic. Just because it’s for sensitive skin doesn’t mean it’s not good for all skin, anyone can definitely use it if there looking for a clean and safe product. And for only $16.95, it is a very reasonable price for a product that is good for your skin.
My personal opinion on this mask is that is perfect for this transitioning whether for my skin. My skin is not as oily anymore but doesn’t mean I need a hydrating mask at this moment. I still need to keep my skin mat and my pores small but all the while not dehydrating my skin and making it feel tight and uncomfortable. It has a creamy texture to it, almost feels kind of moisturizing and it goes on very nicely and smoothly on the skin. It does have glycerin and the famous kaolin which helps to purify and draw out dirt and extra oils but it also has a form of vitamin A that will help smooth out the skin too. I left it on for a little bit longer than what it said which was 5 to 10 minutes, I left it on for about 15 and one I washed it off my skin did not feel overly try or tight feeling but instead it looked fresh and matte looking which is what I was hoping for.
So with my combination skin, it really did tighten my pores, keeps my skin looking matte which I want a clay mask to do but it didn’t irritate it and make it feel uncomfortable. I find this mask very good for now and maybe into the winter because it is gentle enough to use. Plus supporting a Canadian company is always a good thing. Have a good day my beauties and see you nextweek!
Tip: Why not use 2 masks instead of 1? You can use a sheet mask for hydration or keeping it matte or even an antiaging one. You can even put a clay mask on your t-zone and moisture mask on the cheeks. Whatever makes your skin get back to normal, do it!
