vichy toner

Do I need one?  Should I put it into my skincare routine?  What does it do for my skin really?  And is it really important to add this to my skincare routine and overall keeping my skin looking its best?  What I’m talking about and what people still consider as an option is a toner.  You would be surprised how many times people ask me if it’s important.  And of course I say yes it is very important and it does make a difference in your skin and here’s how.

A toner has many benefits to it like maintaining the PH level of your skin after you wash it plus if your skin feels a little dry it were a bit dehydrated after cleansing it can add that extra moisture to your skin.  There are toners out there that can help exfoliate the skin, brighten the skin, control oils if you have oily skin, do you see where I’m going with this one?  It also helps to remove any dirt, dead skin cells or makeup that has been left behind after washing.  This is what I tell my clients when they ask me if a toner is important or not and this is why I use one as well.

For as long as I can remember I have always used a toner, but for many years I only used one for oily skin and I always use the same one all year round.  But the last couple years I’ve had two change my skincare routine where I have a matifying toner for the warmer months and now a more hydrating toner for the fall and winter season.  So now that the weather has changed I have bought a toner that seems to be doing its job.  Read on for my full review on my new toner I am currently using.

Vichy perfecting toner

Many years ago I had tried one are two Vichy Products and I had a reaction to both of them, stopped using them and never looked at their skincare line again.  So when I was looking for a cleanser and toner, I made sure to read the ingredients and make sure I wasn’t going to break out and after about two weeks finally made the decision to purchase this toner.

So this toner is $19.95 which is pretty affordable, it has a very light scent to it but it is not overly powerful.  It has their theme is a thermal spa walker to help heal and strengthen skin, it is definitely a non comedogenic which means I will not break out and it is alcohol and paraben free.  It is definitely what I’m looking for in a toner.

My personal opinion is that it is perfect for what I needed in this changing weather.  A little bit does go a long way so you don’t have to pour a lot out onto the cotton pad, the smell to me is light and refreshing and it does really hydrate my skin.  If I used too much, it makes my skin look a little too shiny plastic kind of feels sticky and it doesn’t absorb as fast but eventually it does and again I do not break out.  I have been using it for the past two weeks and I haven’t experienced any breakouts or any other problems whatsoever.  Only that it leaves my skin clean and feeling comfortable and hydrated.

This toner is probably perfect for normal to combination skin as it gives the extra boost of hydration you need without it feeling heavy or making you feel like you’re breaking out ‘cause it might be too much moisture.  Probably not great for oily your skin as it may cause more shine to your skin and you probably prefer something that can keep your skin mat.  I deftly would recommend it and because it is getting colder, this toner is probably perfect for this changing weather.

Until next week my beauties have a good day!

Tip; there are a million and one toners out there, so be sure to read the labels to make sure it is perfect for your skin.  And if you have combination skin and using a hydrating toner and it’s making you oily in your T zone area, just use the toner in the drier areas so as not to create too much shine on your oily T zone.
