Makeup is such a beautiful art form. It can transform someone’s natural everyday makeup to ultra glam or even something that you only see on runways or on TV but because of Instagram, you can browse through the photos and have endless amounts of beautiful and intricate works of art that makeup artists have created. This is why I love makeup so much!
I also love it when makeup is free! Especially when it’s from a company you haven’t tried because there’s so many different companies out there. To be honest I’ve never heard about them until I actually saw them in my local Wal-Mart. Their makeup is super affordable and the colors are screaming “look at me” along with their packaging so I never really thought twice about them. But when they hit me up on my e-mail asking if I want to try some of their new stuff, it was hard to say no so it took the plunge.
So I received five products from them, an eye shadow palette, lip gloss, eyeliner, primer and a 2in1 cream eye shadow and glitter eye shadow. In this blog post, I’ll be discussing the eye shadow palette and their face primer.
Hard candy eye palette in Feelin’ Mauvey
Out of all the products I received from hard candy, this eye palette was the least brightest and more versatile at of all of them, well except for the primer. This eye palette has 10 beautiful shades to choose from and they range from soft pinks to neutral browns and mauve colors.
When I did receive this eye palette, unfortunately two of the eyeshadows didn’t make it in one piece. So with that in mind just make sure if you’re traveling with this eye palette, maybe put in a little plastic bag to keep it safe or just leave it at home so you can avoid the mess. I think the reason why they broke his because they are super soft to the touch which I love.
The other eight colors that I could play with are very nice and definitely can be used for everyday, natural look. The colors aren’t super pigmented which is fine because I can use most of these colors if not all of them to create a quick and easy look for the day. It definitely is an eye palette that can easily be put into any want collection, definitely mine of course for everyday looks that can be created easily.
Sheer Envy blur primer
I don’t use a lot of primers because of my oily skin, but since my skin has been changing somewhat I’ve been using this primer off and on for the last few weeks. It does have a pale pink tint to it but when you rub into your skin it disappears clear and leaves a velvety sheen on the skin. It does have a bit of a scent, but it does go away after a few minutes. It also has a pump which is easy to use and it is 33ml in size but as I always say with a primer, you only need a small amount for your face.
I honestly didn’t think this primer with last all day. I’m not sure why I thought of that but it totally surprised me. It gave me a smooth canvas, my pores look smaller and my skin looked smoother after I applied my makeup on top of it. It does feel soft to the touch even after I applied my foundation and a really made my skin look flawless by the end of it. My skin didn’t look too oily after a few hours but when you have oily skin it’s just a problem you have to live with. Even when I blotted and padded my powder on my face, my skin still felt soft and smoothed and my makeup still looked great.
Overall this primer was successful and the eyeshadows are easy to use. I definitely enjoyed using or shall I say playing with the makeup I got and I can definitely use it with different looks. It was totally a great experience using hard candy makeup. Now that I have seen that this makeup company is affordable and fun, I can totally recommend this to anyone who is looking to add color and versatile makeup but won’t break the bank.
And for the next couple weeks and are so I will be doing looks and posting them on Instagram, so I hope to see you there and back here next week for another review. Have a good day my beauties!
Tip: although fashion says that these colors are great for this season or bold lips, soft eyes etc. is a must Do what makes you feel comfortable and what looks good for you. Because makeup is a part of your personality and you paint the canvas how you want it.
