The sun and that warm breeze feels so good on the skin. I feels very relaxed and can take a deep breath because it’s such a beautiful time of the year. But when it’s those hot and humid days, your skin can feel like can you haven’t washed your face in days but literally it’s been 2 hours! And that’s why I have two change my routine in the summer especially my cleanser.
Usually when I change my cleanser, I will change it to a foam or cream cleanser. But why those? You ask. It’s because for my skin that is combination to oily, I don’t want it to over wash it and leave my skin feeling super uncomfortable. And for me, gel cleansers tend to be over stripping and leaves my skin feeling tight and dehydrated. Of course, I use a toner after I wash my face but you don’t want to necessarily have a cleanser that will over clean your skin because that can seriously lead to an unbalancing of the skin which can then lead to overproduction of the sebum and make you look more shiny or make you break out.
I have the wonderful friend who has for the past 10 years worked in the beauty industry but has found her calling and works with only natural skincare. Arbonne is her go too for her skincare routine. Since she is a skincare/wellness consultant, I’d told her what I needed and she pretty much knew exactly what I was looking for. Here is my first experience with arbonne and their facial gel cleanser.
Arbonne Bio-Hydria gel cleanser
This makeup/skincare line has been around for 40 years now. They are a certified B corporation. What is that? You ask me. Well here’s the definition of it. What this means is that arbonne meets the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance. They are transparent with their business practices. They also want to help create a sustainable planet for the future and they help their own employees become successful. Who doesnt want that?
Now, let’s move to the best part, the cleanser itself. So it comes in 125 ml bottle for $30.00. It is Vegan friendly, cruelty free, alcohol free and paraben free. It does have a very subtle fragrance but it is from the ingredients that they use like witch hazel, coconut acid, salicylic acid and citric acid. It is a clear, gel cleanser that doesn’t foam up. This is also probably the first product I’ve used that is gluten free.
My personal opinion on this cleanser is when I purchased it, I thought it would dry up my skin like most gel cleansers do. It does not! This cleanser is so gentle and feels so nice on the skin, I kinda forget that it is a gel cleanser to begin with. A little bit goes a long way so you don’t need to use a lot of it and it spreads very nicely it all over the face. It leaves my skin fresh and clean but it doesn’t feel dehydrated at all. And that sent that it has, it is super subtle and its not left behind on my skin which I love because I’m not a huge fan of having a scent left behind from my skincare products.
I have combination to oily skin and this cleanser does the job for me. I can definitely use this cleanser in the fall and winter time. I would totally recommend using this cleanser and if you’re not sure where to get them, I’m gonna leave a few links below to get you started.
