If you follow me on Instagram or on twitter some of the new things I want to try this year is liquid eyeliner and false eyelashes. How come I didn’t use these before and why now? I’m not sure. I mean I can use a liquid eyeliner on a client and put on false lashes on other people but for some reason I don’t do that for me.
For me personally I have literally not used any of these two items because when I started using makeup, I used a pencil eyeliner whether it was automatic or you had to sharpen it was just my go too and I never bothered with a liquid eyeliner.
As for false eyelashes, well they weren’t a crazy thing back then as they are now and way back when, I had beautiful and long lashes so I never bothered with them. Plus my clients would say I have beautiful long lashes so there’s no reason for me to use false lashes which was sweet of them to say. And it didn’t matter what mascara I used, my lashes just looked great all the time so I didn need to worry about false eyelashes or extensions which don’t get me started ‘cause I’ve heard a lot of horror stories from clients and people who work in the beauty industry.
December of last year before the new year started I was contemplating on doing the new things in the new year like using false lashes and liquid eyeliner and a company call Esqido lashes who by the way are a Canadian company which is awesome. So how could I pass them up? They gifted me with their lashes and their crazy popular eye glue which I will be reviewing in this article.
Esqido Mink Lashes in silhouette and Lash Glue
To be honest my first experience with these lashes was kinda scary. I was basically intimidated by them because I thought I would shut my eyes closed with the glue or maybe they would end up on my cheek or I wouldn’t be able to put them on at all. So with me being very nervous doing this I did actually watch a couple youtube videos plus their website also has videos that you can watch to help you along the way which seem to ease my anxiety and I finally jumped in.After watching several videos and about ½ hour later I did it! No I didn’t glue my eyes shut and it didn’t end up anywhere else other than my eyelids. These hand crafted, real mink eyelashes with its cotton band was pretty easy for me. Even a beginner like me was able to use these lashes very easily. I’m not a stranger to false lashes but using them on me was the first time.
It was very easy to use the lash glue and put a good amount on the lashes and I may have moved them a couple times but at least the glue gives you a little bit of time before it locks on and stays on all day. The lashes stayed on all day when I wore them and because it was my first time wearing them, I was very paranoid that they might fall off but I had no trouble with them. And when I took them off by dabbing my makeup remover on a q-tip they came off pretty quickly which I was pretty nervous about but it didn’t hurt and it didn’t take my real lashes off either
The mink eyelashes I picked out are called silhouette at $29.00 a pair. You can definitely get many uses out of it and they are what you call light to medium voluminous false lashes. These lashes give you a beautiful volume without looking to glam for everyday wear. These false lashes were basically what I was looking for because there just a bit longer than my own and they mix well with my real lashes.
Whatever new you want to do this year however little or big that challenge is, go ahead and do it. It might be uncomfortable and you might have a lot of anxiety but if you don’t do it how will you know if you don’t try? I’m glad I finally got around to doing this because now I know I can. And something this small can always set you up for a new experience that is bigger but you can handle. Now that I’ve conquered the false lashes its onto the liquid eyeliner. Wish me luck on that one!
