I’m always excited to write a review on something I am currently using and share it with people who are interested about makeup and skincare.  But this week, I’m a little bit more excited than usual ‘cause I’ve never done this before.  I actually bought makeup from a beauty influencer!

Any makeup I ever bought, I was either curious about trying it myself or I heard that so and so makeup is really good from either beauty bloggers like me or friends and colleagues who I work with that have used before.  I just never thought I would buy from a beauty influencer.  A lot of the beauty influencers have created beautiful makeup collections but they were just never for me.  If I ever was going to buy from one of these influencers, I just wanted to make sure that it would be easy to fit it into my lifestyle and not just because it’s a certain someone who made the collection.

So when Tati Westbrook, who I’ve been watching her youtube channel for a while now, decided to drop her first ever eye palette, it was an easy decision to make.  And you’ll see why in my full review in this article.  Read on for more!

Tatibeauty textured neutrals Vol. 1

The day that it dropped, I purchased it and within a week and a half it arrived.  The cost of it is $48.00 American but with the taxes and shipping and in Canadian dollars, it came to $83.23 total.  So I would say about $60.00 in Canadian money which is pretty affordable for 24 shades in all.

The way that this 24 eye shadow palette is broken down is pretty cool and definitely easy to follow.  But here is a breakdown of the palette.

Memory are the black eyeshadows

Ritual are the dark brown eyeshadows

Story is the burnt orange color

Soothe it is the light brown to taupe color

Aura is the very light beige color

Poet is the plum to pink color

The eyeshadow comes in four finishes which are matte, sequin, metallic and glitter finish.  To me, three of the four finishes were self-explanatory except the sequin one.  But when I received it I quickly figured it out that it’s a matte eye shadow with tiny specks of glitter that are subtle that gives you a little shimmer.

I didn’t use it for like a week because I wanted to take like a million pictures of it before I dipped into it.  But I have been using it and I can’t tell you how exciting it is to create so many different looks easily in one palette.  Going from a day look to glamIng it up for the evening is very easy by adding a touch of glitter and you’re good to go.  It’s amazing how easy you can use this eye palette and there is endless possibilities of what you can create.

Before this eye palette I have never used any kind of glitter eye shadow, so this has been fun and a learning curve all in one.  I wasn’t sure if I needed to buy a glitter primer to keep the glitter on my eyes but I did do a look using poet and the matte and glitter finish and it stayed on all day for the most part.  The eyeshadows that are sequined are a bit trickier to use but I’m getting the hang of it and I’m learning as I go.  And I’m not a pro yet at using glitter eye shadow on me but with a lot of my makeup friends and my makeup community, it’s pretty safe to say I’ll be learning in no time and I am super thankful for that.

Again, this is my first time ever buying from a beauty influencer and if Tati Westbrook took the time to create a palette that can be used every day and very versatile, I can’t wait to see what else she comes out with.  For me personally, what I’m looking for in an eye palette I want to make sure its versatile and easy to use.  And I am very picky when it comes to purchasing eye shadow palettes (excluding this one I only have four palettes) I also think about if I’m going to use most if not all of these colors.  And it’s pretty safe to say I’ll definitely be doing that with this eye shadow palette.

For all the different looks I’ve been doing with this eye palette, I’ll be posting pictures of me on my Instagram account. www.instagram.com/addicted_2_beauty1

Have a good week my beauties!

Tip: The best way to evolve and grow is to educate yourself in whatever you do. I am definitely learning how to properly put glitter on which is fun and new for me to learn, lol.
