Now if you have been following me for a while, you know I’m always on the lookout for lip treatments, glosses or lip sticks that don’t dry out my already dry lips.  Before wearing a mask, my lips were always dry but usually finding lip treatments wouldn’t be too hard.  Now that I’m wearing a mask, my lips are constantly dry and chapped.

So what do you do when you have to wear a mask but have really dry lips?  Well, not much honestly.  The best advice I can give you is keep reapplying your lip treatment and wear lip glosses or lip sticks that are hydrating and very moisturizing.  Normally I wear a lip treatment and gloss on top and by lunchtime, if the lip treatment is good, I don’t have to reapply it and only reapply my gloss.  But now, wearing a mask has me reapplying my lip balm and gloss which I expected because wearing a mask does wreak havoc on my lips.  Now that my skin is in a healthier situation, my lips are the next to work on.

At the beginning of the year, I decided I would try to spend my money on small businesses as much as possible.  And since I was running out of lip balm, I decided I would find a small business that sells really good lip balm with good for me and my lips ingredients.  I purchased three lip balms from a Vancouver based company called Moody Bee.  Cute name, right?  Let me tell you more about them and their lip balms in my review below.

So this is a small business that is owned by a woman named Krista who wanted to make the perfect lip balm.  It took her years to finally find the right formula for their lip balm which now her line has expanded to hand and body balms, lip scrubs, tinted lip balm and recently I just saw on their website new bath bombs.

I purchased three lip balms at $4.49 each which is super affordable.  The size of each tube is 4.25 g which I believe is about the same size as most lip balms.  The three lip balms I purchased were strawberry sunrise, sweet honey and pure which the last one has no scent or flavoring.  The star of the show in the ingredients list is beeswax but there are only eight ingredients (if you don’t include this scent or flavoring) that helps to moisturize your lips.  And these ingredients are in all of their lip balms.  They have sweet almond oil, grape seed, carrot tissue, avocado oil, hemp seed oil, evening primrose and vitamin E.  So very simple ingredients for a very simple lip balm.  But does it work?

To be honest, I wasn’t sure if this lip balm would work because of the many moisturizing ingredients in it, I thought it would be too much for my lips.  But I was wrong and damn do they work!  Not only are they affordable but they work very well.  On a normal day without a mask, I’ll put it on in the morning and most of the time I will forget about it.  I may put it on once or twice during the day but even after I eat or drink something, I feel my lips are still moisturized so there isn’t a need to reapply.  And of course, I will apply it on before I go to bed.

This lip balm is affordable, natural ingredients, very moisturizing but it’s not heavy and they are a small business.  Plus, they have other products that you can purchase.  But, someone who is like me and is obsessed with lip balms, they even have lip balm bundles, lip tints and even lip scrubs!  Out of this three I ordered, the strawberry sunrise smells so nice that it reminds me of a lip smacker one but just natural and Canadian business owned!  Hell yeah I would recommend this lip balm and I would definitely encourage you to support this small business.

Thank you for reading my latest article and wherever you can, support a small business because we really need them and they need us.  Have a good day my beauties!
