Finding the perfect concealer is everything. Not only does it have to cover under eyes circles and bags but also has to cover blemishes and dark spots. But you also don’t want it to crease in your lines or wrinkles, look cakey or flat. Plus if you are like me that goes through concealer pretty fast, you may want it to be affordable sometimes.
That’s why usually for me I’d tend to go towards a concealer that is fuller coverage but has to be oil free and not too creamy or heavy on my oily skin. But my main issue is that it can’t crease, because my oily skin usually gets in the way of a flawless look.
The last concealer I had was a medium coverage concealer called L’oreal infalliable for glowing skin. I didn’t mind it that much but after a month or two it was starting to burn my eyes a little bit. So I checked the ingredients which I didn’t before and found out it has alcohol in it. it was almost done anyway, so I decided to quit using it and purchase the one that I will be reviewing today. By the way this one doesn’t have any alcohol and it has much better coverage than the L’oreal one. Here is my review.
NYX Cream concealer
My preference for concealer is something that can build up for medium to full coverage to give you a flawless look. I’d tend to use a foundation that is medium coverage because I rely on my concealer to give me the coverage I need for my dark circles and acne marks or scars.
I’ve heard rave reviews about this company NYX plus you can’t miss it when you’re walking by the makeup aisle because of its bright and flamboyant colors they have for lips, eyes and everything in between. I especially heard that their when foundation, highlighters, eyeshadows and concealers were very good. So this time that cheap did my homework and checked out their full coverage concealer online to make sure that it was alcohol free. Plus the price for $8.99 didn’t hurt and I needed something fast.
It is contained in a glass pot which makes it easier for me to dip my brush and put it on. This full coverage concealer is buildable from medium to full coverage and the texture is creamy. I honestly thought it would be too creamy for my skin but as I played with the concealer more it goes on more fluid like more than anything. This concealer doesn’t dry up too fast so you can actually move it around so easily that it is not hard to cover up as little or as much as you want with it. I really do like how it spreads very easily under my eyes and how little I need to use which is good ‘cause I go through them so quickly.
By the way the number I bought was number 6 called glow. It has a beige undertone which I need definitely for under my eyes and I do not feel any burning sensation on my face or under my eyes which I’m thankful for. I usually use my Smashbox mineral powder which is not necessarily a setting powder to help set my concealer and foundation but I may actually have to buy an actual setting powder as this concealer does settle in the lines body and of the day. It’s kind of weird but some days it doesn’t and other days under my left eye it has settled in the lines but not on my right eye. So I may just have to be quick and apply my powder before it dries or just keep playing with it until I get it right.
But so far, I really like this concealer. My personal opinion is finding it a concealer for $8.99 that is full coverage, oil free and alcohol free and that is easy to work with is great. You see the beauty of makeup is you get to play with all different kinds of colors, Brands, textures and even the packaging can be fun. But sometimes it can just come in a simple glass pot with a black cap and give you the best coverage you have had in a longtime. Thank you for reading this post and I’ll see you next week my beauties!
