The one good thing about working in the beauty industry is that there’s always something new to try!  And if you’re like me, you wanna try them all.  But even I know my limits…  Sometimes.  Haha!  But one thing I do know about me, but that one I’d done with the product, I’m always moving on to the next.  It is super rare and to have a staple in my makeup and skincare routine and if I happen to repurchase something, by my standards it’s definitely a good product.

Another reason why I would change my products is also when the seasons change.  The last couple winter seasons, I had to experience changing my skincare routine and now this summer will be my first time changing my liquid foundation.  This is going to be interesting!

My skin used to be very oily all year round.  And, for the last couple years, it’s slowly starting to change.  Now that I have to change my foundation when the seasons change, I can play around with a more dewy texture or even a semi matte finish.  My skin still does get shiny but it’s not as oily as it once was.  Literally, every 2 hours I had to blot my skin, but thankfully I don’t have to do that anymore.

This summer, I will be using a different foundation that I received as a gift and I also got the concealer that goes with this foundation.  This company has quickly become very popular because it is very affordable and it works.  I’ve used their eye shadow palette and a mascara and was pleasantly surprised at how good they were.  Now, there foundation which seems to be an instant hit with everyone and comparable to expensive foundations, is it really that good?

Catrice HD liquid coverage foundation

This very popular liquid foundation comes in 23 shades.  At $13.99, you get 30 ml, a foundation that last 24 hours and gives you a medium to full coverage.  It comes with a dropper which you can add a little or a lot of this foundation.  The texture of this foundation is suppose to be very light and gives you a matte finish.  It is cruelty free, alcohol free and gluten friendly plus it is vegan.  The color I received is called latte macchiato beige.

At first I wasn’t expecting a lot from a $13.99 foundation.  I mean it’s only $13.99 so I wasn’t expecting a lot.  But I must say I have been pleasantly surprised by this foundation.  I’ve been using this foundation for a few weeks now and it feels very light on the skin.  And when it dries down, the texture of it is a matte finish and it feels soft and smooth on the skin.  Of course, I’ve not worn it for 24 hours but the longest I have worn it for is about 10 and other than a little blotting to keep the shine at bay, it did stay on all day.

Now because I have combination to oily skin, on humid days when I wore it, my skin did get very shiny but with the foundation on, it still did not feel heavy and it didn’t clog my pores and I’d never broken out from it.  When the days were not so humid and hot, my skin had a almost dewy like finish or I should say a soft matte finish which I loved.  I would definitely say it is for most skin types but if you happen to have oily skin, you may have to deal with a little extra shine with it.  But you don’t have to worry about breaking out or this foundation feeling too heavy on your skin.

Catrice liquid camouflage concealer

This concealer comes in 18 different shades for $7.99.  It comes with a wand and it is suppose to stay on for 12 hours.  You get 5 ml of a full coverage concealer that is waterproof and doesn’t budge or fall into the creases.  The color I received is nude beige.

This concealer does what it’s supposed to do.  So I had it on for about 10 hours and it did not fade, flake off and it did not crease.  It did cover my dark circles and you really don’t need a ton of it thankfully.  Literally, a little bit goes a long way and because it lasted all day, I didn’t have to reapply it.  As for my oily skin.  It did not give me any issues whatsoever and usually when you have oily your skin, if the concealer doesn’t go well with you it will usually fade away throughout the day or it will fall into fine lines but I had no problems with this concealer. The color for me was a bit too light and I do have to mix it with my foundation on the back of my hand so it doesn’t look too light under my eyes.

Thank you for reading my latest article and I hope to see you here again next week on my blog.  Have a good day my beauties!
